A couple of silos standing on the roadside of a corn field at the Sauer Farm in Saugerties, New York. May they always be open for business, selling eggplant, zucchini, fresh eggs, melons of many varieties and beautiful flowers.

Sauer Farms, a family owned and operated on Kings Highway in the town of Saugerties. The weather this past Saturday was picture perfect, just like this photo. Melissa and I picked up the sweetest cantaloupe I've tasted this summer. The Sauer family sells corn, eggplant, zucchini, string (pole) beans, milk, eggs and lots of colorful flowers. They're one of the few family-owned farms still selling to the public. Speaking for many folks in Saugerties, we wish them many more years of productivity. With the pressure to develop and rising property taxes, farms like theirs represent a quality of life that needs protection and support. So go visit Sauer Farms on Old Kings Highway and buy some farm-fresh food.
